What are casters?
A caster is a wheeled device that is usually mounted on a larger object to make it relatively easy to roll. A castor is essentially a shell consisting of a wheel and a bracket for mounting the castor to an object (equipment, instruments, etc.). Casters are found almost everywhere, from office chairs to shipyards, from hospital beds to car factories. From very small furniture casters to large industrial casters, the carrying capacity of each castor ranges from 100 pounds (45 kg) to 100,000 pounds (45 tons). Wheel materials include cast iron, plastic, rubber, polyurethane, polyolefin, thermoplastic rubber, forged steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and more.
